Wandern durch den Pfälzer Wald bei Wallhalben

Hiking through the Palatinate Forest near Wallhalben.

New hiking trails and cycle paths lead you to the most beautiful places to relax in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park. The Kneispermühle is situated in the idyllic Wallhalb area. This is where hikers, touring cyclists and bikers will not only find a place to relax and have a nice meal, a shady beer garden but also a lovely place to stay overnight.

The listed mill which has been family-owned since 1953 is situated in the romantic Wallhalb Valley close to the Mill Hiking Trail just reminding us of an enchanted treasure. These are perfect conditions for extensive walks on well signposted hiking trails and a variety of cycling paths around the Sickinger Höhe.

The inn is surrounded by former stables and three small and cute witch´s cottages with neatly decorated double rooms. All in all the Kneispermühle has over 10 double rooms and one single room all equipped with rustic picture-perfect farmhouse furniture.

The wonderful beer garden under old chestnut trees invites numerous regular guests and hikers from near and far to stay and rest.

The cosy restaurant is a kind of a small museum with a collection of old treasures. For cold days our tiled stove will warm you in a homey atmosphere. Just a perfect place to plan your next beautiful hiking tour and find new hiking friends.

The adjoining room, our so-called „Sälchen“, seats 40 guests. Thus the Kneispermühle is well equipped for family celebrations, company parties and other events.

Our dining area accommodates 45 seated guests and another 15 persons at the counter. The adjoining room offers seats for 40 guests and in the summer season we are ready to treat another 120 visitors on our spacious terrace.  The Kneisper cuisine serves regional, savoury and international dishes made of fresh ingredients.

On Thursdays we have celebrated the so-called Schlachtfest, a kind of barbeque with freshly prepared meat, for over 50 years. Each Thursday, except on holidays, we have our regionally well-known Schlachtfest with Schlachtplatte (slaughterhouse dish), Wellfleisch (boiled pork), Molli (minced meat speciality), liver dumplings, bratwurst and homemade sausages.

In winter we have various culinary specialty weeks on our menu  such as fish weeks, pasta weeks, game weeks or fresh St. Martin´s Goose.

As a qualified hotel expert Mrs Beate Hartmann manages the forest restaurant and boarding house in third generation. Furthermore there are six employees and three apprentices in the Kneispermühle team. In summer 15 temps join us. In addition to this we have natural security guards, the Kneispermühle geese.
